Goodnight January!
Where did this month go? I hope you've all had a great start to this year. I've been settling in slowly but surely. I'm just getting into the grind of things. I think it may be another great semester. All of my classes are interesting.
Outside of class, I think I had a great month too. I did a lot of community service this month. I also spent a lot of time with friends. It's been mostly smiles and a happy heart so I call this month a success!

My bumble bee :)
"Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway."

♥
I've been wanting to get this tattoo forever! The quote above is one of my favorites. I just think it has so much meaning. What's to stop me from achieving my goals and following my dreams. Yes there will be obstacles but I can't even see them yet so I won't let them get me down. I'll just keep flying. I was born with wings to soar. Same goes for you! Stay Beautiful.
I want to get a little bit more into detail. Pretty soon, I'm coming up on one year without self harm. This tattoo is a promise to myself that cutting myself is no longer an obstacle that is in my way. Like this blog and like everything I love, this tattoo is a sign of recovery and hope. It's a permanent reminder to never give up. I'm going to keep flying.

Mockingjay
“What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again”
I just finished reading a book called Mockingjay. It's the last book in a the Hunger Games series. Read these books! They are amazing. I feel a bit empty now that I've finished them all but I was so into them that I was neglecting my studies and I'm aiming for straight A's this semester so that was no good. However, if you have the time, I recommend you read these books. What I like is that they reflect passion and determination but nothing is portrayed as perfect because that's the truth of life. It can be hard and also beautiful but it's never "perfect."
If you're reading this, I want you to remember that you are alive and you are beautiful.

Love can conquer
Love is louder than injustice, prejudice, hate, and ignorance. Love and passion can conquer inequality if we're willing to fight the fight. It's necessary to stand up for what you believe in. It's important that we remember that we are all different but we are all human. We all deserve to be loved and respect by the people who surround us. We're all sharing this planet and there are a lot of people here and no room for hate or intolerance.
Never stop fighting for equality. We all deserve rights. Make sure you remember the people who have and still are fighting for your rights. Don't be afraid to join them. Love is louder than oppression and inequality. Never stop fighting. Activism is beautiful.

Settling
I feel so bad that I've missed so many days. I haven't been spreading as much love as I would have liked to because I settling in to the new semester. I think I'm all settled in now though. I survived the first week mentally and emotionally but not financially but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
I'm happy to be in the place that I am though. It's an honor to be able to sit in a classroom at a university and be able to learn about what interests me. Not everyone is that lucky and if I had been born in a different time period, I might not have had this opportunity. For that reason, I'm so thankful for the people who have fought for freedom and equality and I take it upon myself to understand the importance of that and to continue fighting for equality.
I did some community service yesterday. It was wonderful. We were filing paperwork for an organization in Tampa that provides food services for local daycare centers. Not only did we have a great time giving back, we also had the opportunity to build relationships with people in the Tampa community. They said that we can come back whenever to volunteer, read to children, or even shadow the workers there. They've provided us with great opportunities that can help us greater succeed in life. Community service is always a phenomenal experience.
I'm hoping to have a great week and I hope you have a great week too.

Happy Friday
Sunflowers are my favorite. Well, it's a race between sunflowers and tulips but at the moment sunflowers are winning.
People always say how beautiful flowers are when they bloom. People rarely pay attention to flowers as they're growing and blooming but really, the whole process is beautiful. They're beautiful from the moment their seed is planted in the ground and they never stop being beautiful. The same goes for you. You've always been beautiful and you will always be beautiful. Remember that.

Our Inspiration #5
Darren Criss
To me, Darren Criss is living proof that dreams really do come true. Darren Criss is such an inspiration to me and to many others and it's not so hard to see why. He's the man behind one of my favorite songs, Not Alone.
Not Alone is one of my favorite songs because it gives me so much hope. It's really a beautiful song. I fell in love with it immediately. His songs, his voice, his persona, it's all very beautiful and inspiring. It's the kind of situation where just seeing someone's passion and happiness is enough to increase your happiness and warm your heart.
What I really love is that he fights for equality and human rights. When people fight for the people, you know that those are the people that support you. When someone's voice and persona and smile gives you so much hope, it's hard not to love them.
He reminds me to hold on to hope because I'm important, things get better and dreams really do come true.
