Happy Birthday Blog....a day late...

It's been two years and one day...It's cool to see how much I've grown since I wrote my first post. I've been slacking lately because of school but I only have one more week of classes and the finals and then I greet the lovely summer!

I've been a busy bee this semester but I've learned so much about the world, myself and other people. There is always a bright side. I'm going to include a writing assignment that I had to do for the world's hardest and most demanding class. It's one that I got a hundred percent on and I wrote about this lovely blog that I love so much.

In high school I was the president of an organization called Health Occupation Students in America. One of my main goals as president was to raise awareness of various diseases, disorders, ways to stay healthy and the issues that impact our health. I began researching these topics thoroughly and I wrote a newsletter every two weeks on those topics. I felt like I was really helping my members by reading this newsletter to them at all of our meetings. We focused on dating abuse, child abuse and bullying for one meeting and we were supposed to put up posters around school to raise awareness. Out of 50 members, 3 posters were made and then torn down once they were put up. I felt like that was a huge issue so I did a research paper on domestic violence, collected views on the issues from friends and classmates and then I started a blog on blogger.com and posted my very first blog post. My blog was a tool for raising awareness then it became a self-esteem booster when it went through a “you are beautiful” phase. From that phase, it went on to understanding how to love you and others. Now, I use it to promote high self-esteem, confidence, and positivity to the few people who read. As I look back to older posts, I see that it’s also a great source for positive quotes, pictures, songs and movies. It makes me happy. It’s been a healing method for me and I really do love it.

inspiration

"When we're connected, it means we believe in each other."

When I grow up, I hope to be as smart as she is. That is a lot to understand and she realizes that we all need each other and we have to encourage each other. "You can do anything." This little girl is going to change the world one day. She's already making the world a better place just by living in it. Bless you Sadie!

just a thought.

you know what I think? I think everyone has the right to be accepted and love. I think no one on this earth should ever be afraid to be themselves. It's just crazy. People are just sitting here fighting their hardest to try to live their lives and there are people that just make it hard for them. What's extremely sad is that a lot of people lose that fight. A lot of people unfortunately don't make it through those rough days.

To the victims, don't give up. Please find the courage to keep going. I've been in those hard places and I know that it's not a great place but I've also seen it from the other side and I know that you can make it out. Don't worry about falling again, we'll get there when you get there. You're amazing and phenomenal and I know that you can make it. The courage I see in you to reach out and change your life just makes you so much more special. I know it's a bad word but, Fuck those people who are holding you down. While they hold you down, they're keeping themselves down also.

To the bad guys, When are you going to get it? I'm sorry but FUCK you. You don't have to treat people the way that you do. Is your satisfaction really worth all of their pain?

I'm not perfect. These are just my thoughts. I'm not trying to change any laws. I'm just letting you know how I feel. We can't live in a world like this where people are killing themselves because of the way others are treating them. We all have rights and I know for sure that I have the right to be respected. I deserve respect. We all do.

To all my underdogs

The best thing in this world that you can ever be is yourself. Stand up and be proud of you! Celebrate the person you see in the mirror because there is no one quite like you. This is why I have chosen this song as my random inspirational song of the day. It's a great song to rock out to, it has a great message, and it's so catchy. I love being me and I love me some me. I like it that way.
